PA474 is one of only two airworthy Lancaster in the world today. Built in 1945 she never saw active service and started her service life in Photographic Reconnaissance duties before being used by the College of Aeronautics for trails of a Handley Page Laminar flow wing. In 1965 on request by 44 Squadron, PA474 was restored back to Wartime standard at RAF Waddington before joining the BBMF in 1973.
