Hawker Hurricane MK I – P2902

Built by Gloster Aircraft, P2902 started service with 245 Squadron flying shipping patrols out of Drem, Scotland, she would find herself in May 1940 heading for the French coast to provide air cover for the fotilla of small ships heading to Dunkirk as part of Operation Dynamo to evacuate the British Expeditionary Forces. She was hit by a Bf109 and although badly injured, Pilot Officer Kenneth McGlashan managed to crash land the striken aircraft on the beach, where it remained until 1988 when it’s current owner obtained and employed the services of many restorers to get it flying again.
