Hawker Hurricane MK I – V7497

A Battle of Britain veteran, V7497 flew at the heigh of the Battle from RAF Kenley and lost over Sutton in Kent while on operation patrol on just her 6th sortie. She was allocated to the 501 Squadron in September 1940 and make the number of losses the squadron has suffered during the summer. 501 Squadron ended the Battle of Britain with 149 confirmed victories.
