Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 – G-CBEL

Developed during the Second World War, the Fury aircraft didn’t enter service until two years after the war had finished in 1947. G-CBEL was build as an Iraqi Single Seat model for export as part of a 60 aircraft contract. In 1979 she was taken from Iraq to America abd in 1989 passed to the Coleman Warbird Museum in Texas where she was rebuilt to airworthy condition by 1991. She would next spend some time in Australia before heading back to the UK. Here he was repainted as SR661 a Royal Navy Prototype airframe.
