Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc – JG891

Built at Castle Bromwich 1942 and first delivered to 39 Maintenance Unit, at the start of 1943, she would soon find herself packed and shipped to Australia in February, arriving in April and being issued to 79 RAAF Squadron and finding herself based in Papua New Guinea. She was left here after the war after a flapless landing and being stripped for parts, before being discovered in 1973, and ending in the hands of Historic Flying in 1999. 4 Years later and she was being restored at Duxford, and by 2006 she was making her way into the air again and the airshow scene.
